Hello

My father inlaw has a 2000 ML270Cdi recently the cruise control seems to work sometimes and not others. No lights on dash it just seems to somedays work and other not?

Anything to look for, I'm gussing a lose wire but no idea where to look.

Thanks

Has he changed any tyres recently? A small difference between front and rear rolling diameters can cause all sorts of cruise control problems.

No still on the same tyres?

Where do bits plug in for the cruise I reckon it must be a loase connection somewhere?

Thanks

Sorry, I have no idea where the cruise control 'brain' might be - I'm sure that others here would be able to help with that. I do know that differences in diameter between front and rear tyres will cause all sorts of problems, so it would certainly be worth looking at tyre tread depths remaining, if nothing else.

hmm normally cruise not working is a sign of BAS/ESP issue... are you sure all the bulbs are in the dash, turn ignition on and see if they light up..

Apparently No lights on dash have come on.

I know when I had BAS / ABS / ESP lights on my cruise still worked but the fix to the lights was a speed sensor on rear wheel arch.

I thought it maybe something we could look at? doesn't sound like it.

Something you could check is that old favourite, the brake light switch.

Sadly, these days the cruise control isn't a separate module but part of the ECU.
