Finally stopped burning petrol and got the camera out...a few shots. I've given it a good testing on the motorway - drives really well and drinks less than I thought...ish.

You want to see the speed humps down our road! :p

Hello.

Looking good Gucci,

nice

Cheers! I didn't nick your interior pic! Just back from trip round M25. Got around 22mpg (that was with a bit of town stuff mixed in). Turned up at my twin's house....he had no idea I bought it. HE LOVES IT TOO!

Very nice,
Thanks for posting the pictures.

Regards
John

Gucci,

I know, I have 2 buttons for the rear opening side windows :)

22 sounds about right and if the derv only does 25-30 on a good day, I'll stick with ths petrol thanks

Uh oh, button envy just crept in there! Is that because you have 7 seats? Cool avatar!

Looks lovely :)

Would be interest to see what your mixed and/or town driving mpg settles down to. I get 20mpg almost exactly in my old 540i so anything more than that is a bonus for my next car :bannana:

Is there a "one stop shop" performance comparison of the ML range (facelift) on the web anywhere?

Gucci,

Yep, it has the Family pack, so the opening rear windows (electric), extra seats and the dark side windows. I've actually taken the seats out of the back as (I hope) I will not need 7 seats !!

JamesK, look on what car site and choose used car part, pretty sure you can view three different cars, be it all the same models such as 270cdi, 320 and 350 or compare makes, Lexus RX, BMW x5 and Merc.. Its quite a good site for comparisons.

Cheers

James,
I just sold my 6 speed manual 540i and bought an ML320, only got it 10days ago. I was getting 22.5mpg from the 540:rolleyes: and drove fairly sensibly in it but did boot it every so often.. The ML320 is not so good, but we have to remember its over 2 tons and has the drag fact of a london bus, I got 21mpg, driving slow and had 1 trip which was about 100miles on the motorway, so im guessing probably get sub 20mpg when I dont hit the motorway. Anyway its practicle for my large family and has the looks too.:bannana:

Its nice, but if its only 2-3mpg less than the derv your fuel bills will be cheaper as diesel costs a fair bit more. Plus it will sound GOOOOD

It does indeed sound nice - and it cost me a few thousand less than the diesel. I only do low mileage - i did the maths and it would've been a false economy to go diesel!

Gucci,

Thats my theory with having petrol, Doing 18mpg towing isn't much different to when its in town not towing :)

I would LPG mine it if I did more miles but 6K a year isn't going to make it worth while.

Still love driving it :)
