Mobilolife is the roadside assistance program designed to keep you on the move in the event of abreakdown or a technical problem.
There are several variations of the program, the registration date will decide which variation your are in.
24/10/98-31/12/03
There are no requirements to follow, the first four years you can get your car serviced anywhere. When its in its fifth year onwards you have to have you vehicle serviced at mercedes benz and on time ( time/miles -instrument clusted prompted).
If you miss a service or get a service from any other garage you are kicked out of your entitlement.
Every time you call up mobilolife you will have to pay a service charge.
All of the brand responsible breakdowns are covered - your fault breakdowns are only covered for the first four after that you have to pay the service charge.
1/1/04 - 1/10/04
The difference being is that for the first two years you can get your car serviced anywhere, after that you have to get your car serviced at MB. If you get your serviced at another garage you CAN get back into mobilolife by having a mobilolife revalidation/re-entry service at your local dealer, you carry on getting your vehicle serviced at MB and you have mobilo cover.
And all of yourfault breakdowns are only covered for two years.
1/10/04 - present
UK registered vehicles only
You only get 3 years maximum cover not thirty
The first two years your automatically covered for the third you have to get your service done at MB.
All of your fault breakdowns are covered.
You are only covered in the UK.
The facts - You get your vehicle serviced at MB because they know the vehicles, the warranty, mobilolife and to limit the depreciation when you sell on.
They know the vehicles and they have the tools - Fact
The Warranty - BER Regulations
Mobilolife - You got a one in five chance of getting MB technician who knows the vehicle and will depending on the sort of bloke you get will go the extra mile. If you dont get a technician you get a a recovery truck to take you staight to the main STEALER sorry dealer.
You are not sure whether you will charged for the call out until the technician comes out and he decides.
Limit the depreciation - The cars depreciate so fast and to limit this if you sell it private then yes people will be looking for service history from MB but if you trade it in it does not really matter because they just want to sell you a car, they will do a service and stamp the book before they send it out and also provide 1 year warranty or six months.
So in truth the way i see it and with my vehicles i get the vehicle serviced at MB but just get the basic service done (book stamped) and all they things they report i get done elsewhere (if it does not involve a star diagnostics) Or from another point of view you are getting your vehicle serviced at MB at a premium for your probably much depreciated Mercedes benz what for - the mobilolife cover, why not save money and get the vehicle serviced at a specialists and join the AA for what £100 for a year
The choice is yours
