multi function s.wheel fault

Hi , new member, can any one help, left side buttons on steering wheel not working, right side ok. 2002 C 220 CDI, also remote fob also faulty, no range and intermtent on IR.

Not too sure about your steering wheel problem but the symptoms from your remote fob point to the need for battery replacement being required.

A sideline to this thread, not wanting to hijack, but is it possible to retro-fit a multi-function steering wheel to a car that doesn't have it? I know that often the full wiring look is installed in many cars at manufacture and its just the fact that they don't plug into stuff that isn't installed...
