Now here's a funny story .... Car has been laid up for some weeks (completely flat battery) then moved across the country on a transporter.

Now with a freshly charged battery the sat nav thinks it is still where it started off, some 200miles away! I can even plan a route to where it is located now!

Everything else on the comand works fine (Audio/TV/Phone). The display is currently showing 8 satellites are being received, which varies depending on weather conditions, etc - so I assume the antenna and reciever elements of the system are OK.

Any ideas whats causing this?

Is this some kind of weird memory lock-up?
Is there a way of re-booting the sat nav (APS) processor?
Why didn't it reset itself after being powered down completely (flat battery)?

All suggestions gratefully recieved!

Hi,

My recent experience would suggest that you try inserting an older sat nav dvd - this will force the system to reset. Once that works, you can re-insert your current maps and the system will reset again.

Of course, for this to work you need to have a different map version to hand.

HTH and good luck.

I wonder if you did plan that route then it might twig that it is already there? (Maybe do 5 minutes driving to see)

Thanks Bunny, did you have similar problems?

If it worked for you I guess I will have to search out someone local with an older DVD.

I don't think you need an old DVD to reset the device. Have you tried reset from the Comand menu or pulling the fuse (navi processor fuse I would assume)?

Does it stay like that even if you drive the car?
