My C55 AMG

Looks great,

Funny enough just this morning in a line of traffic I was along side what I assumed to be a C32 Estate (as most of these are C32's) however it said C55.

Great looking estate.

Yours must feel superb after getting out of the Bora !!! I suspect the only thing you look forward to in the Bora is 50 + mpg :)

LOL, yeh to be fair I have a soft spot for the Bora its like a dependable donkey just goes on and on but yeh it will do 60+ mpg on a run its amazing really and so simple to work on so makes it an ideal daily.

Its lovely to climb into the AMG mind there is something addictive about that V8 noise!

Also another update ordered some K&N filters got the pair for £57! From Amazon of all places via Euro car parts so fitted them always used K&N in most of my cars and always been happy with the slight gain they provide. Ultimately this will help future performance mods

Airbox all off

The amount of crap in airbox, only been 3000 miles since its last service.....

Decided to make use of Gina's dog grooming bath and Blaster to clean and dry everything

All fitted with the new K&N's and put back on the car

Coming along very nicely..

What's next on the list?

Bluetooth adapter, new plugs and ignition leads, possibly get the rear box internals gutted for a bit more noise.

After that will be looking to get headers and a re-map from somewhere like west tuning and then eventually wheels and coilovers. That would be the plan but I'm sure there will be other things I want to do.

I had my C55 Remaped with Ray at West-Tuning, pushed 400bhp & 560nm on the dyno but that's with the Renntech CB Airbox.

Have a look at my mods to give you an idea ;)

I'd change the wheels if I was you and get some OEM ones.

Awesome cheers I'll have a gander thats good gains from a remap and a posh airbox! :bannana:

Well nothing too exciting but got my Viseeo and fitted it to the car least now I am all legal when I need to take or make a phone call and it works perfectly with my new Galaxy S4.

I've also had my machine polisher out on the car removing a few marks in the laquer and just trying to get a feel for how hard it is as I have been used to VAG cars and the laquer on them tends to be rediculously hard so takes ages to remove defects. The AMG seems softer. I've also been attacking the chrome strips with Auto Glym SRP as some had gone off but they now look like new. Sadly didn't take any before and after pics.

lovely car mate i want to ask you how you cleaned your tail pipes i cant get to clean mine?

Coated them in autosmart tardis initially which is an intensive tar remover this helps break down all the carbon and general rubbish that builds up on the exhaust tips. Then used fine wire wool with auto glym metal cream/polish then plenty of elbow grease and then used some old rags and quick detailer spray to remove product. Just keep repeating this process on each tip. Once its up to an acceptable standard its easy to maintain with autosol or equivalent metal polish everytime you wash the car. Wear some rubber gloves mind when you do it tardis is nasty stuff and its a messy job.

All in all time taken is dependent upon how bad your exhaust tips are.

I saw this car for sale on the 'for sale section' of the forum and almost went to have a look and buy it! I wish I did now mate, I am very jealous! I've been trying to find one on the trader for the last few weeks but they are very rare so might just get a w204 c350 :-/

Looks good pal! Very nice motor....

Shak

Yeh I have been very happy with the car couldn't believe my luck in how close it was too me and once seeing it I was sold. Its the perfect base car for some slight improvements :thumb:

The brown marks look like baked on tar the autosmart tardis will remove that pretty easily mine had similar marks but now don't have any.

Not done much of an udate in ages and to be honest I haven't managed to do a great deal to the car, general life has got in the way and a current house purchase has swallowed up funds...

So she has had a brake fluid change and the rear diff oil (gearbox oil has been done before I purchased the car.)

Updates:

Decided to whip the steering off and change the buttons for some Paddles

Before:

After:

Repaired the slight wear to the drivers bolster.

Before:

After:

Replaced the old Mobil one sticker in the engine bay:

Before:

After:

Cleaned up some annoying glue/muck on the ABS pump:

Before:

After:

Replaced the idler pulley as bearings were worn:

Also swapped out for the fog light bulbs for LED versions so they are the same colour as the HID/sidelights.

Also got some new front discs and pads to fit when I get round to it can't believe how cheap they were for genuine ones.

Hopefully once moved into our new house I can crack on with the car!

Few more updates new OEM front discs and Red stuff pads fitted, difference in bite is unreal so much more responsive.

Finally got some new wheels some Genuine 19" AMG IV 2pc split rims was waiting for the right set and got these of C200K, absolutely chuffed to bits with them and personally think it has transformed the car. Just needs lowering I think now.

I'll second that. Those wheels look really tasty and look fantastic.

Where did you get them?

I might look for some for my E class. I bottled on 19" and went for 18". Tempted to re think though!!!!! Especially after seeing yours.

I got them off the classifieds off this forum.
