My E63 got a X pipe today

Yes - sound clips are mandatory!

You won't get a C63 bark unless you modify the stock silencers or fit C63 ones...

What your getting is probably more a meaty burble which is what I get.

Interesting sound clips - your 211 seems quieter than my 212 :dk:.

The w211 amg rear silencers seem to be quieter than most, in both 55 and 63 amg models. Nice work mate!

Are there any issues at MOT time with this?

Hi Tony,

The main Cats are still in place, its the small post cats that have been removed.
The emissions will still easily meet the Mot limits. The argument can be that if a vehicle has post cats they should be there, however not all cars have post cats. If they are not present, the vehicle meets the standards, as a tester you would need to be 110% certain the vehicle has a post cat missing before rejecting. In my case I modified the post cats to fit straight back in

After driving it normally last night & this morning, the throttle response is even sharper & it was sharp as a razor before lol.

It looks great.

I would be wary of using those exhaust clamps though. They do leak and rust quickly.

Use a stainless steel band clamp made by Mikalor. They are excellent quality and clamp evenly.

Olly i understand you do this work do you also MOT or would you recommend an MOT tester that would be sympathetic?

I have never known one to fail an MOT.

I would not be able to publicly recommend one.

What diameter of pipe is used to make the X pipe?

You can have any bore size you want but I would advise 63.5mm (2.5") the same as Mercedes use for the rest of the system :thumb:
