Very pleased to say that I’ve now joined the E63 club.

I started looking about 3 weeks ago, ran the gauntlet of the frankly appalling dealer sales offering(s) and yesterday I’m delighted to say I put a deposit down on this:

It’s a late 2018 E63S, with the newer steering wheel etc - Premium Plus with Night Pack with the added bonus that it has the drivers package too, so no limiter (highly unlikely I'll ever get to the top speed but nice to have!). This was the third car I looked at, having seen a 19-plate Selenite Magno example a couple of weeks ago, which I discounted because of the horror stores over maintaining that finish.

Then yesterday I looked at a early 2018 Hyacinth Red car in the morning, which was beautiful - but simply not ‘AMG enough’ (my wife said it first and she’s not hugely interested in cars).

Then I saw this car and fell in love instantly. I broke my own rule of never owning another black car again (someone remind me of this fact when I inevitably post about keeping the damn thing clean). I also did something I never thought I would, I bought a car with GPF’s - this is something I’ll need to get used to. Time will tell if I miss the volume and hard edge sound of my C63S - watch this space I guess, as I might be asking for recommendations to make it louder.

Anyway, I collect the car on Friday as the garage agreed to have the Transmission and Diff oil changes done after I pointed out they were due (car has 30k up so they need doing).

It’s going to be a LOOOOOOONG week.

Finally, if anyone is in the market for a cherished 2017 C63S in Brilliant Blue, it'll be up for sale sometime next week (don't know what price the garage are going to put it up for yet).

Couple more photos....

A nice little run about for sure! 4wd, perfect for winter. What’s not to like :D

I have spent quite a while coveting these myself - primarily due to 4wd. Pulling out of a roundabout with the C63 yesterday was ‘interesting’ due to lack of traction!

Yep - in these temps there's no way to get the tyres warm so it's always a bit 'hope for the best'. I drove a 250 mile round trip in sub zero temps and fog to see those cars yesterday so know exactly what you mean!

The car I drove a few weeks ago felt utterly planted at 75% throttle (all I dared with the salesman alongside me) on a soaking road - confidence inspiring to say the least!

Awesome, congrats. Lovely car. Be interested to hear how you find it compared with the C when you've got used to it...

We've got some snow here so I think the AMG will be staying at home... It's more Defender weather.

Will update this thread once I've got the car for sure. Agreed though, despite the 4WD I will probably be using the wife's Duster for most journeys for now, more to avoid the salt than anything else.

Yeah so much salt.... It makes me wince when I go out!

Congrats.
A 213 E63s is the only car I’ve ever considered buying for a second time.
As you will know (or soon to find out) it is an all round amazing car that never fails to impress whether you are chugging around town, cruising country roads or pressing on at a fair old pace.

I really liked the 205 C63s, but this is a whole different beast. I’m very sure you won’t look back and wish you hadn’t made the change.

Wise man. Horses for courses.

Great car, although your previous was a fine thing too.

I was recently looking at these again... The cheapest 213 is a fair whack more than the most expensive 212. Wonder if that will change with the new E63... Maybe not given it won't be V8...

Very nice.....but when you say "no limiter"....is that correct?...I thought that they were still limited but to a higher speed than 155mph Mercedes norm. Do Mercedes make any cars that are truly de-limited.

Alas the GPF/OPF is fitted according to the data card - but I’m going to see if I can get used to the noise……
Oh.. Interesting. My friend has a 68 plate E63s estate and I don't think his has the OPF, certainly sounds like it doesn't! I think that must be around the time they introduced it. My mate's car has the slightly older steering wheel so perhaps his is just before the cutoff

Congratulations 🎊 🥰😍👍

Did you look into the size of your fuel tank? Is there anyway how one could easily check for the size, any advice welcomed. I want one 🙂
