The above picture shows a close up of the fitting alignment for getting the gaps correct. This is early stage and only first fit.

looks like a nice build taking shape now...cant wait to see the finished article

Always fascinating to see and follow projects like that, thank you for sharing! :thumb:

Thanks guys. It's early days but coming along nicely so far. Lots still to be done.

A bit more progress. The sills have now been re designed to give a more aggressive look, work still in progress on the front and back bumper.
Lots of work on the alignment of the body panels to get them as they should be with all the gaps looking good and the definition of the lines.
First guide coat of polyester now on. This will be blocked, more work done and than sprayed with polyester again until everything is perfect. Than the first coat of primer will be applied. Still lots to do but getting there. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Looks like a cracking job pal. Keep up the good work.

Looking good Rudy. It takes a lot of persist and to get these builds to work, looks like you are on the correct track. Did you see my build? It may give you a few ideas of what to do or possibly what not to do.

Damn that's going to look very smart, I can't wait to see the finished product. I wouldn't have the stones to do something like this, a change of wheel style has me pondering for months on end.

Hi F1BHP, yes I have looked t your build. Great car and I love the kit. I nearly went for that myself but at the end wanted a wider looking rear. I do love the front end on yours, it looks fantastic. Hence some mods being done to mine to get it to look a bit different.

Yes I agree with you all, to do a project like this takes a lot of research, time, nerve, money and comes with a lot of patience required. But if done right it will be worth all of that. My plan for this project includes the bodywork, fully re styled leather and carbon interior, split rims, and a lot of mechanical work. Also. Full audio instal. So lots to do yet, but cannot wait to see it finished.

Thanks for all your comments. All good so far :-)

Whilst the bodywork is being done I have started doing some other jobs.
One of these was the carpet and boot carpet panels. These were grey but in very good condition so I wanted them black. These were hoovered, brushed, steam cleaned and dried first. Than using a carpet paint I set out painting them. The vinyl parts were etched first than painted. This is the result. Very pleased with them and it will add yet another touch to the overall detail of this project.

I don't like the grey carpet on mine so this will be on my list when the audio is done. What the end goal with the mechanicals?

Did you do the carpets and panels yourself? I would like to find someone to do mine I don't have the patience for that kind of job it would end up with black and grey spots or stripes.

Yes I did the carpets and the panels myself. It's not that difficult, just need to be patient with the process. Worth the effort. I'm sure it will make a big difference to the overall detail.
Mechanically, nothing drastic in mind, just renovate everything to ensure it's as good as new all round. Plan is to methodically go through every aspect of the car and ensure everything is as it should be. I want this to be as good underneath and were you cannot see as it will be were you can see.
This will be a labour of love once the main project is ready. Well like most projects, it never ends. Always something to do.
