I love seeing things like this, testament to the engineering from Mercedes and care from the owner!!

My W211 E320 has 111k on the clock so young by comparison. I did 300 miles in it at the weekend and it never fails to impress. Comfortable, plenty of go and 45mpg+. I toy with the idea of selling but like you, Markssl it's one of the best cars I've owned!




I'm not sure if I think my W211 looks modern as such but it totally holds its own in terms of looks.

I'm considering buying a diesel E class estate. Is 45+mpg a regular thing on a run?

My 2008 320cdi gives me about 43mpg on hilly 170 mile runs , central Wales en route from Carmarthen to the Wirral, this is driving fairly quickly . On motorway usually get about 45mpg on a long run at speed limit , bit less in winter

Yes, the 2.7 IL5 is a brilliant engine and is my pick of the bunch.

45mpg is easily achieved if you stick to 65-70mph mate. Certainly in my E320. That's with the older inline six as well.

If you pick up the pace and cruise above 70 you'll still get 40mpg+ which is fantastic for a big car with a big engine.

193546 miles on my 2006 facelift S211 as at today .. had it from new. Best car I've ever owned.
