Hi all

i think my maps need updating so i spoke to parts at MB and they said they are £100 for the disc and it will also update your firmware as well is this correct what he is saying

thanks

Yes.

However, if the car is less than three years old, you are entitled to either a free update immediately or, if it suits you and the dealer, to have generate the update code to be used in a few months at service time.

I found the disks online, popped them in and then updated my firmware and my maps to the 2014 maps on my Comand NTS2.5 in my CLS

Some COMAND systems have a HDD and some need a permanent CD,
you can get the from the guys at COMAND.co.uk I think, or find someone on here who has them depending on your model

:)

All depends on what year your car is.

If you have NTG1 or NTG2 then a genuine MB disk will have the necessary firmware for the navigation processor on it. It loads this first then the disk is ready to use.

If you have NTG 2.5, NTG3 or NTG 4 then you may need a firmware update done to the Comand system BEFORE you can load the new data. Firmware for these systems is NOT on the map disks. It can only be applied by Mercedes Benz themselves or a good independent that has a genuine maintained Xentry system like we do:bannana:

NTG 5 4,5 and NTG 5 systems require a set of map disks plus a pin code. Most (not all) models since model year 2011 (half way through 2010) have three years of free map updates. If you have it then your Data card will have option code 502 or EX9

its a 2010 car alfie

To be aware that I'm having an impossible time registering on Comand online with V11 (NTG4.5), V10 in my previous car worked fine but at the moment I'm awaiting a reply from the dealer and Germany as to what is wrong as all testing with the BlueDUN developer is suggesting a MB Apps registration issue!!

nice 1 alfie does it update the firmware or will that be a mail dealer thing

thanks

Firmware on a W212/W207 must be done by dealer or a good independent that has factory supported Xentry. (We have it).

what price would it be to update firmware

thanks
