In 2004 with my black bmw, one morning, i woke up to a thump..

looked out, my car was in my house.

My sister had tried to reverse the car, but instead she must have selected first and went into the house!

silly woman!!

I've heard of similar errors in automatic cars. Maybe it's time to start a poll: are automatics more dangerous than manuals? ;)

I thought your thread was supposed to be about near-death crashes involving MBs!

anything involving my sister is near death..

you have not tried her cooking.. watch out lol
Yeah but you'd need to involve the car in the anecdote somewhere, perhaps eating in the car or cooking on the exhaust manifold.

Lucky escape there Chattonmill!

My upturned Golf narrowly missed a telegraph pole....

But I did scrape off its earth conductor

I was also driven off the road at Stannington on the A1 before they closed the gap in the central reservation, had to swerve to miss a car joining from the Central res into lane 2 had no option but to go into lane 1 and go round, except that he still hadnt seen me, my brakes locked up on the hard shoulder and we went into a Lamp post.
The lamp post came down onto the A1 and we ended up in a ditch off the road. Never touched the other car. He stopped luckily.
Cue me running up the road calling him all the names under the sun, he locked his doors and wouldnt let me in!
Police turn up and take My Brother and I off for statments when my Father turns up to pick us up as the Sierra was a write off. Having seen my car he pokes his head inside the police car and says
'Is this the c*** that nearly killed my two sons'
Police 'Yes sir, but there is no need for that language'
Dad 'He nearly killed my two sons, I think I was rather mild'
Police 'Yes sir, but at your comment the gentleman burst into tears'
Took two days before I could close my eyes without seeing that Lamp post coming towards me.

Back in my day when i thought i was Mr Mansell i overtook a lorry, rear passenger arch was rubbing he's tyre and my mirror smashed off by the on coming car:crazy: talk about your life flashing in front of you!

when i was young my cousin was driving our ford sierra.. the wheel buts cam undone, the wheel was then held on with one loose nut and at 2am we span 3-4 times on the A46 near coventry... we ended up facing the wrong way wedged in the barrier..

VERY SCARY, especially as a child.

Luckily there was little traffic around... at a busier time we would have lost our lives for sure.

No. I am Mr Mansell :thumb:

when driving between RAF cosford and Shrewsbury, came to a brow over a hill going along M54 west bound after Telford, hit black ice and spun straight into central reservation... back of the car was fcuked, written off in a Z3.. my br just reminded me today lol

A 20-tonner doing a U-turn through a turning in the central reservation of the A303 nearly wrote me off. After turning over, my Land Rover's roof was at dashboard level on the left-hand side. Luckily I was alone.

Mercedes content: 3 weeks later, I was in Leicester and got an SP30 in the W202.

The HGV driver involved in the above incident got driver training. I haven't yet reconciled myself to that yet.

Speeding in a 30mph zone.

Yep, 40 in a 30 on a dual carriageway. I was in the wrong, but the HGV driver nearly put me 6 feet under and he didn't even pay a fine!
