Nearly Wrote Off My C63!!!!

...Throw the car hard into a left hand exit off a roundabout so enter at speed and 90 degrees hard left ...

But there are no hard lefts on a motorway, it's straight; at motorway speeds you don't have the opportunity to input sufficient steering angle to turn the car through 90 degrees or anything like it. Even the most violent lane change probably only equates to a directional change of 20-30 degrees.

On a roundabout, if you are brutal enough then, I agree, any rear drive car can be unsettled enough to lose the rear, and any front-drive car can be made to plough straight on.

With regards to a dash cam, I've just bought a go pro copy with all the mounts for my car, motorbike and helmet for my mountain bike......but i'm not sure i want to fit it to anything! In all my years of driving and riding i've never witnessed an incident or accident. As soon as I fit the cam am i going to be attracting nutters all around me?

How the heck did you get a picture during all that?

I find the exact opposite happens!

Dash cam on = nothing happens.

Forget to connect dash cam = Lunatics.

Have dashcam permanently plugged into rear console socket via an extension lead, therefore never forget :)

Isn't it called a spare wheel. Is the battery in the boot of the C class?

Note to self = don't buy a C63 simples :D

I had a moment last year on the M42, a range rover pulled straight into the outside lane, no indication, i was virtually beside it, jump on the brakes (literally) had to swerve into the central reservation, ABS kicked in never felt as if it was going to loose control, i think all the dash went red as well.

I broke hard in a straight line ABS etc didn't work, It 360'd then bounced over a roundabout.
Don't rely on your electronics....one written off SL.

The urge on the middle lane hog to seek their normal driving position is strong.

OP; have you managed to remove the stains from the car seat....:D

Its times like this when you discover that adrenalin is brown…

The cam is all installed now so no doubt will never have an issue "Sods law" but that is a good thing lol.
And trust me, on a motorway at 70, turn serverly right while hitting the brakes, no ABS or EPS will help you! as people have said, a mass of a car trying to change direction at that amount will loose grip!

No it won't. The car - if driven with measured inputs by a driver who was alert to the hazard and hadn't disabled ESP - would simply move over to the next lane.

I think the driver should note to her self "Look in mirror before changing lane, and indicators are there for a reason!"

Glad you and your car are OK mate - well done for holding the car, allot of people would have paniced and possibly crashed it.:thumb:
