Need some help valuing a (W211) 6.1 Brabus

I'm going to have a stab in the dark that the K8 stand for 'Kompressor' and '8 cylinder'.

edit...

Answered my own question I think...

K8 is the supercharged engine, still 'only' a 5.5 I think...

Yes, a K8 is a supercharged AMG engine with bolt on bits.

The 6.1 is an old school strip-and-rebuild of the 500 engine, bored and stroked with new internals.

Hi,

I thought this would be the best place to come, + have no where else to look.. We want to sell our beloved E class left to us by my father, but have no idea what to ask for it, and wondered if someone sensible out there could lend a hand.

E class W211 E61 - Brabus 6.1
2004
silver
49,000 miles with full history
obviously in mint condtion

Any help greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure the thoughts of our members will be with you and your family at this time.

On value: this will be tricky as the market is so limited. I would go so far as saying that you will get it wrong regardless. It will either sell immediately because you go low or you may be advertising it for many months because you go high.

Ask the admin if you can post an advert here and if they can open up private message access, given the circumstances (usually a 30 post minimum requirement). You could even open it up to offers if you're really unsure what it's worth, which everyone will be - not just you - because there's no market history on such a car.

Wishing you all the best.

You is one of them rocket scientists int you?

:D

It was always one of those things that I'd not really thought about what it meant until now, when it seems glaringly obvious.

I'm more into astro-physics than rocket science, for the record.

yup i was looking around for info on this car and seems as even though its rare, i'd say the same as above, your more likely to either sell it straight away to have it for months

firstly it'll be considered modified and that in some peoples book is a pain the the backside come insurance

secondly its got less power than the E55K so its a tough one but either way i'm sure you'll be able to get it sold but just comes down to how quick you want rid of it!

price it too high and you'll have it for months and months and possible buyers might be put off due to it hanging about too long, price it lower and it sells within the week and you don't get as much as you could have but is the extra you could have made worth the hassle of having it kicking about for months.

i'd personally price it slightly lower and get it sold!

I might be interested in buying this car, depending on how much you're wanting.

Whereabouts in the country are you, if you don't mind me asking?

For 15K ya knocking on the door of a 57plate E63!

I know which I'd rather have.

will take some pics tomorrow and post up asap, its in mint condition, always garaged. So after reading all the posts, id say its now officially up for sale for £12,950 or near offers - thanks, sad to see it go

That is one he'll of allot of car for just shy of 13k... Stick to your guns on that price... It's worth all that all day long...
Best of luck with the sale

I reckon there will be a few people on here having a bit of a wobble about this at the moment. ;)

Expect a visit from someone from Horndean any moment... And possibly someone from Donny by the looks of it.

Good luck!

£13K seems cheap for a 6.1 Brabus.

I thought the same initially, there's a CLS Brabus Rocket on AT for something like £80k.

On closer inspection though, I'd have expected 'more' power than the AMG version and this is why it's not as valuable IMO.
