Neural Impulse Actuator

Has anyone had a chance to play with the "OCZ NIA / Neural Impulse Actuator" ?

It's due for release soon, and I'm very tempted to pre-order one (at about £100 they aren't too expensive) especially if the hype it to be believed!

That said, I'm a bit suspicious on how well it works, and I'm curious to see if anyone has had a pre-release model to play with?

It is one of those, and my first thought was precisely the same as Spike's... it MUST be an april fools joke....

Then I googled it - it was demo'ed at CeBIT a few months ago, producers have received their orders and its starting to ship to reviewers...

It doesn't seem to replace a mouse from what I read - just a keyboard and the "click part" of the mouse... Hence, I'm guessing (and purely guessing) that you can assign keys to certain brain "stimuli" or cranial muscle contractions...

I decided to preorder one, (from Play.com - they don't seem to charge until they ship it)... I'll post what I think of it when it arrives... IF it arrives

Re: it being only for games - well... if you practice a little, I don't see why it can't replace a keyboard for typing (unless it doesn't allow you to associate enough "keystrokes"). That said, if it works anywhere near as well as it's advertised, Unreal will have a whole new dimension
