Mercedes A Class
First Post....

First off its great to be a MB owner and forums are looking good.

Quick question if anyone knows please.

I have just picked up my new A Class which had the media interface factory fitted. My question is do I really now on top of that have to pay even more money for the leads to connect any media device to it?

Many Thanks.

Our A Class came with 3 leads as standard ..... which model do you have and are you sure they arent there ?

Sorry I forgot to say welcome !

Don't know about the A class but I got a pack of three leads included with my C class last summer as standard [ it had the media interface option included as part of an Audio 20 upgrade package at extra cost] - make sure they haven't "gone astray" during delivery? ;)

If you have the Audio 20 with the 6 CD changer and media interface you should get the 3 cables as detailed here in the options price list.

Audio20 with integrated 6-disc CD changer and Media Interface
Includes radio with dual tuner, colour display with 5.8-inch tablet-
style screen, MP3/WMA/AAC-compatible CD player, USB port
including CD cover display
and aux-in socket in centre armrest,
telephone keypad and Bluetooth
interface with hands-free function
and music transfer.
Media Interface allows connection and control of portable media
devices
(
e.g. MP3 player, USB storage media
)
via ports in the centre
console. Cables included for aux-in, USB or iPod
connectivity

ps Mine were "hidden" in the central storage unit between the seats

pps welcome :thumb:

Same for us as Grober. What I am not sure about though is whether you get the leads with the basic non auto changer Audio 20 ..... which do you have ?

You cant have media interface with the Audio 20 without built in 6 disc changer.

OP If you have media interface you get the leads. Speak to the dealer.

If you have the standard Audio 20 with a USB connection and aux input in the centre console that is not the media interface.

Many thanks for the prompt replies, I called the dealer this morning and he apologised saying leads where on his desk.

Next sad part of the story is I collected the leads plugged in my trusty Ipod 40GB Photo and even though the Ipod looked happy started charging and said Do Not Disconnect, computer says "No" or it actually says "No External Device".

So looks like I need a new Apple Device for the car.
