New drivers side window- is Mercedes original imortant

Hi, getting the drivers side window replaced as it has been damaged by someone with wire wool or something. How important is it to get the original , the one with the mercedes logo etc on the glass,its just the glass repairer said it would be of equal quality but most likely not have the mercedes details on the glass , ie non original equipment . Should I cancel him and get the original supplied by someone else ? Or am I fussing about nothing .........

If your paying for it, any glass will do as long as the tint is precisely the same. The only difference between MB and non-MB windows which I am aware of, is the little black star which is printed onto the window.

As far as windscreens go, egilkington make the windscreens and the little black MB star is stamped onto it at some other time. This may also be true for the other windows.

I had to have a new passenger window as the local ****s though that they may be something inside so smashed it.
Autoglass came out and had to order an original as the fitter said they don't do their own brand
