Hi

you are going to be soooooo busy!!!!!:D

I have a question for you.

I have a c220 CDI 2001 Y MANUAL! 64K fully serviced etc. while putting ones foot down i.e going up steep hills or over taking there is a momentry lack of power... I can only describe it as like a miss from a petrol engine car or like a gentle jab on the brakes. Its worse in hot weather. Local MB dealer changed an intercooler pipe....said it was collapsing under load..£250 later no cure and no come back.... long story... its a difficult to fully describe the prob. If you need further info I would love to share it with you. It needs B service... you free???

without looking at the car for a problem like that it is very hard to say????
i have i think experienced the fault and could be a number of things, but most commonly i would say to get the air mass sensor checked out or charge pressure sensor, may not be registering a fault but could be reading incorrectly under certain conditions. Could even be a gearbox adaptation problem or torque convertor lockup clutch sticking

easiest way if possible to try another air mass sensor, i think but dont quote me on this they are only about £27 and take minutes to fit....

im in essex so maybe a bit far for you to travel

The Diesel ones are something like that, one for the s320cdi was £39.

Welcome to the forum M8.
Its nice to have someone else who is willing to help out.
I am sure that you will enjoy your time at the forum and, with all the knowledge that is here, could even learn something yourself.

Welcome to you mate.

As you know to attempt to diagnose faults on a Forum is not always easy, so good for you to put your head above the parapet.;)

Welcome to the forum!

Lets hope you don't become like the doctor at the dinner party who gets questioned about each rash or twinge every other guest has experienced.
:)

Welcome again.

this is a common problem mainly with the early electronic gearboxes 722.6
reseting the adaptation of the gearbox can sometimes improve the downshift quality but the problem is mainly with 2 to 1 downshift and this is due to increased/wear in b1 cleareance in the gearbox, gearbox stripdown and adjustment(reshim) is required. to be honest if it is not to bad i wouldnt worry about it. it shouldnt get any worse.
hope that helps
