New member unimpressed by 30 post count?!?

Not a great start for new members!

Looks like a cool forum this and I found my mistake having been using mercedesclub.org.uk.

So... I've a white w124, 250d manual and I'm looking for leathers and a differential. Mine makes a walalalalala noise, which unfortunately is louder than the engine.

The previous owner, or one before him did some unkind things to the car and I'm been undoing the mess and repairing all the little faults like the windows, sunroof, missing brackets, broke park, rust...

What a car though. Slow as hell but ultra enjoyable. The slowness is a none issue once you get behind the wheel.

I thought I'd do well by buying a cheap donor car. I now have a 300d auto on the drive mechanically perfect but needing a respray. I didn't realise the damn diff is different. If anyone wants a cheap donor let me know!

There's a guy asking for offers on leathers for a w124. I was going to offer £100.

He's probably want more if he's a breaker, but then I bought an entire 300d for £250 with 8mth tax and it's mechanically spot on. Have to try.

My car is a 1992 K reg. It's a Sedan, also known as a Wagon, also known as a Saloon.

It has a stuuuuupid spoiler on the back and chaved black 18 inches with low profiles. I'm keeping these wheels.

Stinks of wet dog. Previous owner had several.

A dint in the back panel from where a diesel engine I was carrying for a Royal Enfield conversion went from one side of the boot to the other and then BANG.

Started out as a wedding car. Still looks like a wedding car - but for those on severely cash strapped incomes.

I'm 27 and close to Durham.

My black 300D saloon had a stupid spoiler on it too as per my avatar when I bought it. Fitted a second hand boot lid. That took care of that easy.

You will be lucky to get any leather interior for £100 but you never know.

Anyway sounds like you car is coming along nicely.

Sometimes if you ask nicely on the "contact us" right at the bottom of this page the mods may let you PM early. It has been a while since it has happened methinks but it is worth a try. Their decision is final though.

Geddin I have power, unlike my 250d. Cheers dude.

To be honest I paid too much for the car, it was an impulse buy and it **** the head gasket to pieces two weeks later. Have a read and watch the video.

I didn't even realise the 124 came in coupe form.

The leathers aren't too of a concern at the moment. The non working park brake and the MOT due in two weeks is more of a pressing matter. Hopefully they'll be deaf and wont hear the diff.

Yup the blue lid from my 300d is going to be fitted. The 300d has the lid from a 300e, looks like a 95+ as it's a smarter design. I love the way parts are passed from car to car.

If anyone wants a towbar for free PM me. I can DHL it for £8. It needs painting but all the wires are there and it's only surface rust.
