I have recently bought a 1967 230sl from California.

1967 Mercedes-Benz 230SL

I have 3 Porsche 911s in my small collection. I saw this SL (which is the same year as me) and bought it in a moment of dopamine induced excitement!

Have a look at the pictures and please tell me that I haven't been shafted too badly.

That looks very tidy for the money.

A friend of mine bought a Pagoda Rolling Chassis requiring a complete restoration for not much shy of that price.

Where in the country are you based? I'm just trying to think of the best local specialist to give the car a once over once you take possession of it.

Great buy and what a fantastic car and looks a good price too, I love looking at cars in the US particularly California where the climate generally guarantees they are rust free

Even if one didn't like cars, does SL's would be an exception. Lovely & enjoy.

Hi and welcome to the forum. That looks lovely and a bargain at that price

Stunning mate.

Hello New member julio is the name and fixing cedes is my game. I live in CA in the USA i am MEXICAN from TIJUANA MEXICO. Wen i got the 97 W210 it was a love hate thing cuz i still had my 88 jaguar but saddly had to put her down. Then cuz of low budget i got stuck reading and studying every day for the last 2 years!!!!! Now i cant see my self with out my benz. I dream of dropping a v12 in it but thats a dream for now. Its hard to find benz lovers cuz of so many imports. I would love to find a group to chill with as now i stand alone. 97 w210 2000$, transmission after 6mnths 1000$, sparkplugs, wires , 2 coils, about 120$, new water pump and radiator plus mid hose(popped in hwy lmao wife got so scared lol) 180$, shifter module 15$, 4 Eibach springs and 2 KYB rear and 2 SACH pro touring front shocks, front control arm and 2 new ball joints 190$ all work exept trans. I did myself and more to come. Hope tomake good friends!!!

I wouldnt mind getting the parts and shipping them to any one with a how to instruction im not very smart so itl be easy to understand with out big words. Just hoping to make good connections

Welcome to the club.
you will find this site very usefull-- Home - Mercedes Benz 230SL, 250SL, 280SL Pagoda Group
in particular this section.
Pagoda SL Group Technical Manual :: Main / HomePage

The wheels would normally be steel on a pre 69 car but the Bundts are "of the period" so OK

Slightly concerned on the bonnet fit from the pics but may simply require adjusting.

I wondered about the Bonnet fit two. Although, the selling garage have a another silver SL (1969) with an even worse fitting bonnet!

you will enjoy this video series too

What a beautiful car, simple and elegant. Mercedes at it's best.

Enjoy your new toy :)

I really like that shape of SL w113. Congrats on your purchase! And welcome to the forum. Sadly not a fan of green cars.
