i did a few searches on this first but i couldn't find the problem i seem to have...

I bought 2 standard new numbers plates for my CLK as i didn't want the garages forecourt on the bottom of the ones that were already on there...
The new ones i bought are normal legal size and everything, so i took the existing one off the front and the new one will not slide into the recess?

when i compared them both they have like a step on them?
its hard to explain this without pictures sorry but is there a special type of plate that fits or am i being an idiot?

many thanks

cheers :thumb:

Can't help, sorry, but I did think that plates have to have the BSI number, and the supplier's name on as well as the reg number in order to be road legal.

I've sorted this problem, i was being an idiot

this is what i was going on about what i thought the problem was tho:

i attempted to fit the front one first and only release the bottom part of the number plate holder with the intention of sliding the plate into it etc

as the boot one opens and is level and easier to access i popped the whole lot off and put the new one on with no troubles.

doh

:D
