That SLK was pretty doggy. I was pretty amazed how cheap the parts from Dronsfield were! Would a typical punter get all that gear for only £400?
Deffo the correct way to buy a Mustang. A complete one with the majority of interior and exterior trim---- impossible to source in the UK - so anything you buy is going to be sight unseen from the states. There's a huge aftermarket industry in the states for these cars so you can get most of the routine running gear easily and cheaply enough. Again bought from a nice warm dry climate state to minimise the dreaded tin worm- you can still get body parts but think of the cost of shipping bulky items across the pond. Bought the right model also with the 289 V8 fastback body and disc brakes. There were 6 cylinder ones with drum brakes but these don't have kudos of the performance cars. A Mustang without a V8 is not a Mustang altho I might still be tempted by a straight 6 convertible. They are easy to work on being relatively crudely made compared to a contemporary Mercedes say but makes them easy to keep running. Here's what all the fuss was about.
Still good to see Ed in action though, his all round knowledge of so many marques is very impressive.
Thats what I was thinking, a supercharger, set of decent looking wheels with good Pirellis, headlamp and stereo. I reckon you or I would have paid nearer £1k for that lot.
