Coming from a BMW 120d and needed something bigger as our family has doubled in size! This car seemed a sensible choice, where I still get to retain degree if sportiness! Only option I went for was the automatic 'box. Nice to haves would have been heated seats and windscreen but not losing sleep over it :)

Welcome to you and your family.

Thank you for the nice welcome! I've been (and still am) on the BabyBMW forum for the past few years, I've already noticed a couple of familiar faces (read: user names lol)!

Hello and welcome to the forum, that is a size change and then some from a 120d!!

Yes I hate for a job to only be half finished lol. Very pleased with it so far, my only reservation is mpg which seem a bit low at the moment (36-37). Usual commute to work in the BM returned 54-55mpg which is about official combined less 10% - I was hoping for mid to late 40's in the Merc, applying the same logic.

Welcome - I have a big weakness for estate cars!

Me too and incidentally this is a newfound weakness which times in nicely with my requirements :)

Hi edstrom76,

A very warm welcome to the forum, very nice estate car.

A windscreen is an optional extra on the new C-Class?!

:p

Welcome to the forum. :)

:D I was looking through the brochures this afternoon and it is listed as "heated windscreen wash system" - not sure what this means exactly?

The windscreen wash reservoir is heated so it doesn't freeze up over winter, Mercedes have been doing it on their cars for a few years now.

Cracking choice. Welcome.

Thank you, I've always been a fan of the C-class. No doubt a new model will be out in a couple of years time (2024, W205?) but I guess if everyone worried about that sort of thing then nobody would buy new cars in the first place, hey?

The facelift has brought it bang up to date IMHO and the fact that they have moved the stalk for the cruise control to sit below the indicator on the 2013 models means I don't have to re-teach myself coming out of the BMW :)

Ah, so I take it Merc don't offer a Ford style heated screen on the C then? Feel much better if this isn't the case :)

You will be lucky to see an average of 40mpg in the Mercedes.
