Sold the C43 earlier and the C32 will be going up (properly) for sale soon as well which will leave me with a bit of a conundrum.

What 'toy' to go for next?

I've come to a bit of a mental block if I'm honest so I thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas, the budget will be roughly up to £7k and the car doesn't have to be a Mercedes, but it does have to be petrol and fast.

So far I've thought of an Alfa 147 3.2 GTA, an M5 4.0 V8 or a W209 CLK55. If anyone has experience of the Alfa or the M5, please let me know.

So fire away...:thumb:

Jimmymidnights CL500 facelift is up for 7K at the moment, lovely car by the looks of it.

Hi, I had a 3.8 M5 and loved it. I then got a v8 e39 M5 and to be honest it was a bit soft and lacking in feel. This was replaced after a short time by an Alpina b10 3.2 it was lighter, had a steering rack instead of a box. I never missed the extra 140 Bhp of the M5 and there ther wasn't many situations an m5 would be faster. Your budget would buy a Mint example.

BMW M535i (E28)

May be a bit out of your price range, but an audi b5 rs4 or s4

I'm real considering the rs4 for my next car, and they're higlhly tweakable.

Maybe a srt6 crossfire, just a little bit faster than c32 :)
Just googled them, I never knew they did a 'fast' version, but they're not for me, thanks. :thumb:

A 215 CL has gone through my mind to be honest, but it would have to be the supercharged V8 if I was to go towards the top of my budget.

I've been looking at BMW's (both Alpina's and M's) this morning as it happens, and if I did go for a BMW it would have to be a manual gearbox.

Good shout Rob, they seem to be appreciating in value as well which is always a good sign.

Skyline or TT supra!
:D Maybe ten year ago, but thanks for the curveball!

I didn't realise how much they've shot up in value! Great cars (I've got a soft spot for Peugeot's) but I wouldn't lay out that sort of money on one of those, thanks.

The B5 RS4 and V8 RS6 are sort of on my shortlist, only problem is that I find four wheel drive sports cars numb, so I'd have to have a good run out in either to see if they're as I expect.

Audi S8, BMW 750i, Masser QP or 3200, Evo. Impreza STi, Legacy spec B, porker Boxster, Cayenne, TVR, VW Phaeton (6.0 W12 is an awesome beast :D )

Just a few of my bucket list :D

Ideally, yes.

Pity we are finding the Boxster S great fun so much so I am thinking of a 911 instead of my clk (sorry folks).

if its a toy its gotta be the 147 GTA easily the most fun car ive ever driven. also IMO they are starting to appreciate in value as well

Why go for a half way house, go for a w211 E55!

they are going for cheap money now

Cant believe Alps was the first person to mention W211 E55...they are rock bottom at the moment, value for money, power, luxury, reliability (forget SBC scare mongering), without doubt unbeatable buy....oh and did I mention you can officially join the AMG lounge lol

Surely a no brainer decision....:thumb:
