Nice looking SEC

Ahh, Henry Cecil's old motor.

Originally sold for somewhere around £5000 on eBay and the dealer/dealers that bought it have been trying to flog it on ever since.

Really? i think it's worth it for 5000 but a bit steep at nearly 8000.

Nice car but at the end of the day its a 500SEC with no other bits apart from the Lorinser Kit which is worth about £5-800 at most.

My mate was trying to sell this for a while.... Forgot to ask him what happened with it...

That dealer always seems to be selling cars that Arabs have got bored of.

Lovely looking car in the Pic's, it could do with an older set of RS90 IIRC rims though to give it the real gravitas impact, the convex faced later rims sadly look too modern for my own tastes.

+1 I love the old lorinser rims. They give the car much more presence IMO

1984 MERCEDES 500 SEC AMG AUTO WHITE - excellent condition. only 3 owners | eBay

I went to have a look at this one above ^ last week, and was so close to buying it but so glad i never! the car is not as described and way over priced, it has loads of niggley bits doing to it i.e seats buttons missing ect and minor rust bubbling on arch and body panel, breaks were poor really had to stamp to get them to work, think it was a ABS issue, and engine make a slight ticking noise on acceleration, which went away after engine was warm.

Any way, the next day i researched the car and just happen to bump into the advert on ebay from a block who sold it to him for £1350! and he wanted £3700 but went down to £3200, its had no additional work has been done to it, it had a slight leak on slip diff and engine oil leak advisory on mot, nearly brought a shed, amg body parts looked tired and odd off white colour tone on body and panels, indicating respray, i offered him 1500 but on 2nd thoughts i will invest in a decent 1

Mercedes Benz 500SEC Black | eBay

Iwould be interested in your guys views on this one? my concerns are the high number of owners, would that be a concern or a bad history to a car?

but its had 8 owners : (

Number of owners is no issue on a big petrol engined coupe. People like the idea but when the economic and space realities kick in then they get outed. I'd be much more concerned about high owners on a diesel saloon.

White one has been for sale since March/April iirc. The black one is nice and I was also looking at that but think I need to slow down on buying cars. I've bought 3 since Christmas.
