No air flow from centre vents - W202

[GB Classic]

Hi all

I have no airflow coming from the centre air vents -neither hot or cold. The side vents work fine as do all the other outlets - any ideas please?

Are the vents open?. You could try the summer settings on the distributor dial or use the recirculating button to clear any blockages

I have checked that the centre vents are open and have also removed them to make sure, but there is no air coming out of the outlet at all regardless of how I set the distribution control. I have tried the recirculating button also with no effect. The distribution knob seems to work ok as I can direct flow to the footwell or screen. Air will come from the passenger and driver vents but not the centre vent

It sounds like the distribution flaps are stuck. Check the linkages.

As it has not been referred to above, could it be that the center thumb wheel in the pic below is off?

Thanks for the pic - but sadly not - I have actually removed the whole centre vents but there is nothing coming from the outlet at all.

I will check the linkages from the distribution knob tommorow and see if I can find anything

my bro had a similiar problem, but affected all vents if i remember correctly. turned out to be very dirty pollen filters. Quick change sorted the problem.

I have checked the linkage at the distribution knob end and all seems well so I assume the centre vent flap must be stuck somehow. Is there anyway of getting at it without removing the whole heater assembly?

Pollen filter is completely clean and looks as though it was replaced very recently.
