No back light on w210 ACC panel

hi

Just back from driving my ( new to me ) 1999 E240 tonight and noticed that there is no back-light on the ACC display panel. All the button leds work i just cant see the display but the display is visible in daylight , it was the first time since i got the car on Saturday to drive at night .

Could this be a fault with the panel or something else. Any pointers to check would be greatly appreciated.

Just a bulb. It comes out like a radio. Bulb on top.

From memory i think their is a bulb or two in the back of the unit. You will need MB radio removing tools to remove it though ( goes into the small slot either side )

There are. But if you are clever you can cut a credit card to fit in the slots. Go to Ebay to get an idea of the shape you'll need.

The radio keys to remove the A/C digital panel look like the ones in this E-bay auction, you can get them from your dealer or halfords.
