No clicking sound when parking brake is engaged

Hi, On my W211 I used to hear a clicking sound when parking brake was engaged. I cann't get the brake stop light in instrument cluster ever since the clicking sound disappeared.

The parking brake works though because when i press the pedal to engage parking brake it works (I cannot see the parking brake light in instrument cluster). Similarly, if i pull the lever to disengage parking brake it works as well.

Can some one advise if i need to look at the brake assembly on driver's side or the rear wheels have to come off for this?

There is a clicker, ratchet mechanism on the parking brake pedal that can fail. It's only there to aide in setting up the brake adjustment and to give an audible and to the driver.

Does anybody know part numbers for item 60 and 70 in the attached for W211 E-270 CDI?
