The other day whilst discussing my son's soon to be acquired new A-Class, I very foolishly said, in front of witnesses, that seeing as both me and my son had new vehicles, my wife could indeed have a car to replace her Saab.

About thirty six hours later, there I was at the MB dealer, again.

And this is her 11 plate R172 SLK200 AMG Sport in Cavansite Blue with Auto g/box, Comand, air scarf, heated seats, auto folding mirrors, F+R Parktronic etc, collection Friday.

At some stage, I will post a picture of me inside it (which I guarantee will generate some rightfully raucous comments) but I refuse to post a video of me getting in or out of it!

By the way, she test drove the brand new white one in top left of second picture and wasn't won over……..£34K bullet dodged :bannana:

Very nice!

We started off with one Merc (my SL), plus a VW and an Audi. Now three Mercs!

If you are as tall as the Avatar in your Avatar then this I have to see.

Love the colour, that's you in the good books!

As of 1st March, we will be a three Merc household too. Shame I can only drive two of them.

Sweet! I love the R172.

Early night tonight then :cool::D;););)

At least it will stop my knees from hurting for a while……….foreplay always starts with begging after all.

We went to look at an SLK for Lucy recently. The video of me getting in and out is not for publication.

My only comment is that the forward vision was great, but the top of the windscreen rail was obscuring the instruments.

Very nice R172. This is a smart move. Booth of R172 must be much much smaller compared to SAAB so less space for shopping bags. ;)

I fell your pain. Literally.

The only way I will be able to go in that car is by wearing Toad of Toad Hall helmet and goggles, roof down. Still, after all the motorbikes I've had, I mustn't grumble if she wants a toy just for her.

Thankfully she's not bothered by convertibles and has fallen in love with the new A-class (which is fine apart from a slightly intrusive B-pillar).

Now just have to wait for them to drop in price a bit!

Lakeside Mercedes hmnnn. If you dont mind me asking, where you able to negotiate any discount? I have found them to become very uninterested in doing business if you ask for any price reductions.

Truly stunning deal on my son's new A-Class and very good deal on the SLK.
