Not bad for £8k

Why put one picture and not even a good one at that...

A lot of car for the money not sure what the 2.3 engine would be like in a CLK? ok in a SLK but the CLK a lot heavier, more of a crusier :)

Nice though :)

2.3K engine fine in a CLK, no real difference in power to a 320 just that 320 is smoother and lazier and an easy drive, the supercharged 2.3 is more of a drivers car just over 190 bhp as standard and respectable 0 -60 times, if you want a real drivers car just add a Brabus K1 performance kit, sprintbooster and away you go and if thats not enough you can always do a pulley upgrade and you'll be nudging the 300 bhp mark. Mileage on the above cars looks high though, sure there will be better lower mileage examples around but at the end of the day you get what you pay for

Hi Gina,

I've just bought a 320CLK cabrio , the 320 is a V6 with just shy of 220bhp , the 2.3 supercharged is 193bhp. S0 30bhp seperates them , but the 320 obviously is a bit heavier due to the engine. Be aware as well that the cabrios are a good couple of hundred kg heavier overall than the coupes , so you'd probably be better having that little extra bit of power of the V6.

Being that it's a cabrio , its never going to handle as nicely as the hardtop , but i've not noticed much flex or scuttle shake in mine TBH.

Power delivery is nice and smooth in the V6 , depends what you are looking for. Certaily seems quicker than a 230 that i had a ride in. Still not as quick as dads 430 though. I'll have to wait a year or so for that to be available.

Don't worry about mileage with these cars , (especially the 320 ) as long as it has a good service history. Mine has 150k on it , Nick Mercedes has seen it and he'll confirm that it doesn't look it at all. Mine has a full MBSH though.

Go for it !

Howards car is a corker considering its mileage.

I can only agree with what Howard has said. My 320 CLK was lovely and smooth and the economy was very very similar to the 230. The 320 seems to sell better also as it seems to be in more demand. The 230 I found to be lumpy and rough compared to the 320 which just sooooo smooooth....

I forgot that you'd seen it too Alfie !! :o

Cheers mate !

Yes Howard's car is in damn fine condition considering its mileage

a V6 everytime over a 4 cylinder .. plus fuel consumption is about the same

would agree with all of the above 320 is smoother and about the same fuel consumption as a 230 in standard form, as Howard quite rightly points out the FMBSH is the Key, mine also had this which was one of the deciding factors in me choosing the 230 over the 320 as I could not find a decent 320 with history. That said I'm happy with my 230 which only has only done 70k, guess it's horses for courses and opinions vary but I would have been happy with either

Thanks for all the advice! When it comes to buying, (hopefully sooner rather than later) I think my budget will be more aimed towards a coupe rather than a cabrio even though they are very tempting with the prices as they are! :D

That one lives in Cornwall....engine likely to have been worked hard going up them there hills!
