Have been spending my pennies at Elite again so needed to test out the products...

Car Jet washed
Snow foamed (Bilt Hamber Autofoam)
Rinsed
Hand washed with 3m shampoo and microfibre cloth
Rinsed
Door shuts / cills cleaned
Dried with giant microfibre towel
Windows polished inside and out with AG glass cleaner
Tyres dressed with AG spray on tyre dressing (panicked when it went on white!!)

After 2 hours of cleaning I see why a detail takes so many hours!

Having a brew now before the hoover & polish come out for the interior

one of these days will have a professional polish and seal....but need to sort the huge number of stone chips first.....I hate the M62!!

Cant wait to get my 18" AMG 5 spokes back on in spring now they have been refurbed

Keep on cleaning

cracking job there in general in fairness. Great colour car, lovely deep shine to it.

problem with stone chips, they always come back - even if you change your driving style, someone else wont lol

Some manufac's are now using dark primers for dark top coats and light for light more common nowadays so whilst chips wont become a thing of the past as water based paints become thinner and thinner in application, at least they will be less visible!

Cheers mate

Stone chips we are never going to solve.....crystal wax or clear film helps but for a daily driver you just have to take the pain!!

Must be even worse on an ML bigger target:eek:

Good job overall, Did you not protect the clean paint with anything?

I would recommend some kind of sealant (if paint is clear of all dirt etc)

My usual method is same as what you did but then finish with either a light polish such as AG SRP and then seal with Autobrite NANO sealant

It protects the paint from the nasty salt and grime from winter roads

Honest answer..... ran out of time, it took me an age with the AG SRP last time!....
Maybe this weekend after another clean.
Need to check the windscreen as well, hit by a large stone on way back from Milton Keynes last night, that loud I thought it had come thro....not had chance to look in daylight.....fingers crossed.

Hopefully its not broken.. in my view if your car is treated and sealed properly then a simple Foam/wash and rinse will give equally amazing results.

Clean & shiny, not a fan of the wheels though, but then again its not my car;)

Black wheels are like Marmite, it's like or hate, there's no in between!

These suit the car better in my opinion. Black can look good on light colour cars but then again thats my opinion
