Not Ebay, but.... 1965 Moris Minor 1000

I just cant see a Traveller at 15 large.....no matter how good it is......but as long as the buyer is happy I guess that's all that matters. Frankly you need rose tinted glasses to want to own/drive one as they are horrible to drive.........mind you that does not stop Type 1 "Beetles" and old air cooled VW campers selling for a fortune....both of which are equally nasty to drive!!!

MM Traveller sold for £15K at the weekend! 😲
Gott in Himmel ! That's in far better condition than when they were new.

Obviously Travellers always sell at a premium to the saloons, but this one's probably twice the value of a Traveller Ordinaire

Yes, it is very strong money. I'm sure you noticed all 3 were in the same auction - Matthewsons.
Certainly did, although I was mainly concentrating on the bubbling rust and woodworm on the other two, which were much more like the Travellers we used to see in the 1970's. Whereas that £15k baby looked like a brand new body, woodwork, mechanicals and seats that were quite anything that came out of the factory.

For £15k and to put it in perspective (with it looking almost like new), I think when you compare it to a nearly new euro box at £15k, you probably won't lose much money, and will have something of a rare head turned on the road (if you can keep it in the good condition). So if you have £15k burning a hole, it's not the worst buy. For me though, it could do with a large bore stainless sports exhaust, and a decent stereo plus 14" sub-in-a-box I'm the boot.

Maybe some sill LED disco lighting. Something tasteful to add to the desirability.

:p

Plus a little slamming or even low rider kit?

I think you're right about the outlay, but it wouldn't be a daily driver.

I used to do Moggie 1000 service work regularly.
One friend brought a Traveller to me with an MOT fail list for brake pipes, cylinders, etc., and asked me to do a complete brakes refit.
A challenging job, as all the brake pipe nuts are BSF threads rather than the more-usual UNFs.
A disaster if you don't know this. Before you know what's happened, you've stripped all the threads !
So - All new cylinders / all new Cunifer-10 brake pipes / all new brake shoes / all properly-adjusted - Better than when it was new.

I never owned one - I can't say I'd want one.
They handle like a bath-tub and the steering and braking are primitive.
I think the design dates from 1947ish -- Like myself - - Age 75.
