Hi all
Just got my C220 MY2012 with the NTG4.5 :)
Been looking at the SD / USB port to add my music - which is non too small.
I like the fact it wants to show me folders and not read the device and then show me just the albums or details as it sees fit - especially as my folder structure makes a lot of sense (to me at least)

Does anyone know the definitive max size drive connected via USB that it can take. I know that FAT can deal with 2TB.
I have a 256GB SSD that I plugged in and it read a few folders and files, but not the majority. the ones it read played OK

I don't mind it NOT using the SSD as I do have it ear marked for something else, but I do not really want to spend out on a 256GB flash drive for it not to work

Cheers

I guess I was spoilt by a Dension DMP3 from many moon ago. That would take any size PATA HDD and play the folder structure I had no matter what. Nothing has really come close to it since :(

Tried a smaller SSD and that has not worked either
I am not sure about spending around £150 on either a flash drive or SDHC card
I prefer the idea of a SDHC card in the car, but a flash drive is of more use to me if the larger drives do not work as intended
(I have seen on one of the German sites that people are using SDHC cards, but it may also exhibit the problem if only showing a subset of folders / files)
In the mean time I have ordered a set of UMI cables from comandonline.
They have an Ipod cable, which if push comes to shove I can use my iPod - hopefully that will work. I know I can then upgrade that with an adaptor and mSSD.

Cheers

Got a set of UMI cables today so I thought I'd try a HDD via the UMI -> USB
Did not work :(
iPod is not too bad so now to upgrade it to a 500GB mSATA

About 30gb tops. I've a 150gb drive with 25,000 songs on it and it'll only find artists A - D or so, It will only cope with chunks of music of about 4,000 songs.

I have a 128Gb USB plugged on my C Coupe with audio 20 without any problems. I have been using it on the courtesy C class with command I have at the moment and it works fine too.

Yes, but how much is on it?

I think the limit is in the number of files per folder that COMAND can see, and not in GB as such.

Just checked last count is 8931 songs.

I had a 16Gb, then a 32Gb, 64Gb and 128Gb and the only thing I have noticed with the 128Gb is that it takes a bit longer to organize the library the first time I plug it in. After that, music starts instantly. It was faster in the courtesy car with comand.

Hmm, my folders structure is 0-9, a thru to z with a couple of other folders.
I would not mind if I saw all the folders in the root and then it failed to see the sub folders, but I get a few folders shown.
I may look at the memory stick again incase there is some difference between a memory stick and an SSD in a caddy.
