OK, my trusty 8 years old car is playing-up... slightly.
When the engine is cold, i.e. first thing in the morning, turning the key all the way through does not start the car - the starter does not come on at all, no ticking sound etc. The instrument cluster lights are all as per normal.
If I turn the ignition all the way off, then try again, it will work without fail the second time. It's the same with both keys.
It only ever happens when the engine is cold.
I was thinking about the automatic transmission inhibitor, but in this case I would have expected it to be more erratic..... or perhaps Cam/Crank position sensors?
Any suggestions will be welcomed...
