Oil filter cap removal.

I've got a 1996 C280 with the straight six engine.
I tried to do an oil change today, but couldn't remove the filter cap.
I know there are tools for this job, but there's a few different sizes. 74mm 76mm etc. 14 flute?
I just don't know, so could anyone here tell me please?

p.s. I tried to move it with an oil filter strap, but no go. My mate from down the road had a chain, but I said nooooooo.

Can't tell you what size it is, sorry, I use a strap (you do have to grit your teeth the first time if it is really tight) but you can get a universal kit from machine mart for £41.99 order code 040215222 apparently there is a vehicle application list but I don't know if you can get sight of this before purchase. Otherwise measure it and count the flutes ..... hope this helps.

i bought one made by laser from my local factors only cost £4.99 and it fits my sons vw golf so a bonus really 74mm 14 flutes
