Shude , what do the special installations mean ?
loads of old-school optional extras, like special alternator, suspension, steering, air conditioning, badges and warning signs, wiring etc. Lots of stuff, most of which require the microfische which in all honesty I don't have access to, here in my bedroom ;)

could you fathom a guess as to why it has them ?

I don't even want to THINK what you have access to in your bedroom  :D

Check with AMG damnit! ;)

LOL :D Have you got their number ?

I reckon it's a red herring Howard - RAC Data Check:
Vehicle details
Manufacturer MERCEDES
Model C220 SPORT AUTO
Body type 4 DOOR SALOON
Colour BROWN
Fuel type PETROL
Date manufactured 30 December 1996
Number of previous owners 2
Last owner change 20 October 2001

Maybe look for other distinguishing features, eg AMG cluster, gearshift etc. Or failing that, just open the bonnet - 6 cylinders or 4!

Fingers crossed that I'm wrong but I'd bet it's a replica.

Yeah , also described as blackberry

I don't even want to get into discussions with the guy if its not a c36 , do you have a contact number for AMG Shude, i have just emailed them the VIN, but i don't know if they will answer me ...

Howard, have another sneaky look, even check the tax disc maybe? Surely that gives the engine size in 'cc' too? (if not I think they used to!)

Gotta know the outcome :)

Bornite is the Metalicy Maroony colour right?

Bornite (the material) is actually copper iron sulphide or something, so that might explain why it's described as brown by the RAC.

The whole thing seems a bit unusual H, but don't give up hope :)

I don't think the RAC have personally visited every car on their database, it's more likely they pulled the data from the DVLA and the V5 probably has the colour listed as brown.

The V5 will also state the engine capacity.

As for an AMG contact number, I've never had reason to find it but I'm sure it's possible to look it up somewhere, try asking on the DE/CH AMG owner's club website, they seem to have close ties with the factory.

Doesn't change my observation though.....

Howard, Very Interesting !!!. Keep the good work up.

Sports seats front and rear. Both heated, drivers electric. Nice options.

Did it have the ultra rare sports rear seat - moulded as 2 seats not 3?

Not sure Graham, can you tell from the options list ?

If the guy parks up in daylight , i'll do my SAS bit and take some pictures from the undergrowth , and have a look at the tax disc and dials....

I have no idea - get someone like Alps who has the standard rear seats to check his VIN like you did and see if the seat option codes differ....

The pictures I linked to before (that are dead) of a maroon C36 (a friend of Koolvin's) also had the rare 2 seat rear bench....

I'll see if I have the pics at home later.
