Tried to renew my SL tax this morning and it came up "Vehicle not insured"

I look at the bank statement and the money was taken out, I find the papers and all OK, I ring MB and ask why it does not show up, they said it is there.

After 1 hour I found the problem, I had not told them of the number change from 13 months ago
Is worse to come

Do you mean your registration number?
If so you have been quite fortunate. A friend of mine was DONE for having NO insurance because the insurance company typed in his registration incorrectly (out by one digit) and he did not notice.

Isn't there now legislation to protect 'employees' [fine servants of the forum that is] from such ageist prejudice?

It's nothing to do with age is it Malcolm?

I was just trying to be helpful.

You can aid the limbs and muscles, but when the brain begins to fade, you are in deep do do:D :D ...............what were we discussing?

Never mind Malcolm it comes to us all mate.

You could try blaming the wife or the cat, but it could never be your mistake could it?:D :D

Whoever's fault it was, I hope you have changed/advised ALL relevant parties now?

I came to tax my wife's car last year on line and it kept coming up not recognised etc...so I checked the insurance cert and yes it was two digits the wrong way round and I hadnt noticed for almost a year...suppose we were lucky.

I can only blame myself as I am unlovable

Does this mean that I have been driving around with no insurance for the past 12 months

happened to me. i had to carry my certificate around for two months in fear of ANPR coppers as the insurance did not put my reg in the MIB database. correctly

Yes I am afraid so.

In Russia, the customs filled out the tempoerary import documents with the doc no of the V5C and not the reg no of the car. I never noticed until the customs pointed it out on the way back to the UK. I said - "It's your mistake! Fix It!" And they did!
Many many year ago life was based around names but now its all effing numbers, user ids and passwords. Tell me where to buy a time machine quickly please.
Les

At the age of sixty everyone should get a free bus pass and be chauffeured to that big entertainment centre in the sky. :D

Regards John aged 59 and 364 days  (not quite)
