Hi Folks,

After a few threads in the last week asking for advice I have taken the plunge and put a deposit down on a CLK 230k.

Nothing special - its a 1999 Elegance model but with only 65k on the clock.

Pictures at the weekend when it arrives.

A friend is driving an S reg (no idea what year that is) CLK 320 and has not had a single problem with it since he bought it new at the time. Lovely car. Enjoy!

Congrats Justin. I'd a '99 CLK 230K prior to the SL and loved it. Had no problems at all in the 5 years and 40,000 miles I had it other than some rust in the front wheel arches which MB eventually fixed. Reason I changed it was I didn't like the look of the new model. Enjoy!

I recently bought one, it's been sent back to the Garage I bought it from for the following faults:
1) Headlights need adjusting (dipped & main)
2) Rear nearside window winds down of it's own accord !!!!! (this hasn't happened at all today, so if you can't isolate I am happy if the switch is swapped with the rear R/H one, if the problem then moves to the r/h side after I pick the car up you could always post me a switch & I'll fit it)
3) AIRBAG light on permanently

4) SRS light on most of the time
5) Runs very rough & sluggish sometimes (and loud!, sounds like it's only running on one or two cylinders), this will happen on EVERY trip I make to work (>20 miles), if I pull over & stop / start the engine it is fine!
6) YELLOW TRIANGLE with EXCLAIMATION MARK in console comes on occasionally. (hasn't done this for over a week now)
7) AIR CONDITIONING does not work (only noticed this at the weekend)
8) Also, driving in the rain today I notice that the screen still doesn't clean properly, I have tried cleaning this with meths, isopropyl alcohol & many other detergent type cleaners but it's the same, it is impossible to see clearly at night in the rain.

One of the tail light bulbs had also blown but I have replaced this myself, this should have been picked up on the pre checks.
