Not being a current MB owner i have just come across this rather nice looking car whilst walking through a car park !!! It was a 2009 and looked a lot more expensive than the autotrader/ebay ad's seem to imply, so whats the story ? How can a car look a great deal more expensive than it appears to be..... are there underlying issues with this model ? I have read a few owners saying its a tad big and if you don't have parktronic then forget it .. oh and the rear view is an issue due to the line of the back, all minor really. Anything i need to consider ?

Hi, As you say I guess parking could be a problem without parktronic all the ones I looked at when I was buying had it, there are blind spots at the rear and the front but they are not to bad, engine is rock solid V6 diesel plenty of power and torque,7g auto gearbox can have jerky changes at slow speeds sometimes, they are a great looking car, a proper head turner and drive great too, I am on my second CLS now and it still brings a smile to my face when we go out in it

Thanks for that update, they do look very attractive and a lot more expensive than they are ! Looking at the options likst i think the Harman Kardon sound system is a must as i did love the Bose system on an older Omega i had

I will have a mooch about the sales ads.

There was a Top Gear once where Clarkson ran a CL600 I think and Hammond a BMW of similar calibre.

They parked them up and a lot of people thought their value was far higher than the reality.

CLS is just one of those cars.

However, some of the bills you can get on these kind of cars means you need a cheaper buying price - let alone the maintenance costs which aren't always cheap!
