What a pile of s**t they are ...

My internet at home has been down now for 2 days, Orange helpline has a pre-recorded message stating that 'due to a third party network failure, most of Oranges UK customers are experiencing an outage , while their engineers are working even as they speak, they do not have a resolution time at present, we advise you to keep trying the internet every so often .....'

Christ, are we in the 21st century ? how can it take a huge company more than 2 days to sort something out ?

Do you reckon i can claim for lost time , i mean £17.99 a month divided by say 31 days is nearly 60p a day , so i think they owe me that ...

Orange really are shit , since they took over Freeserve, i've had more problems in the few months they have been providing than in 4 years of Freeserve !!

Nightmare ....

Before anyone asks, i'm posting from work !

On Orange bb myself but not had trouble. Think it was on BBC News only today about people having trouble this week. Only affects ppl in Orange's LLU so I guess unfortunately you're in that area. No doubt it'll fix itself as it always does...

this was due to a network faul:devil: t (cable) and also the network management crashed!!!

I'm on orange not got pips works fine ....................now it's sure to go off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

October 2006
broadband service status
Orange can confirm that a broadband network outage occurred yesterday Monday 16th October at approximately 16:00.

Only customers within our LLU network areas were affected and the outage was caused by a network equipment failure. We are working with our engineers and suppliers to rectify the problem as quickly as possible. Service was restored to more than 20% of affected customers overnight and will resume for more customers exchange by exchange throughout the day. We are working to restore normal service to all customers as quickly as possible.

We apologise to those customers affected.

from orange, note affects llu not the customers that use BT but branded as orange

I'd switch to a proper broadband provider, as opposed to one that tries to offer it as a carrot to lure you away from your current mobile phone deal.

Sorry, but you really do get what you pay for.

What i paid for Greg , was Freeserve in the beginning and then it became Wannadoo or whatever then Orange bought it ...

I was not lured by a carrot, i wasn't looking for a bargain deal ( both my mobiles are on O2) as i stated before in many years of it being Freeserve and Wannadoo , i had zero problems , and was very happy with the service...

Since Orange took over , problems , problems , problems ....

sorry to hear abt ur probs howard, ive got orange.. only just.... no problems so far, actually quiet pleased with it. Lets hope they sort the problems out... fyi when i was with BT i had a 3 day outage, so it can happen with any provider!

Its back on now ......

I shall be sending them a bill for £1.16 which is for 2 days lack of use ...

Everyone said it was about time BT lost the monopoly on the LL so that others could take over and run the network properly. What they failed to realise is that although BT are basically pretty poor at the job, they are sadly the best! ;)

Check your contract, it probably states that up to 1% downtime or something could be expected under normal conditions and unless you can submit receipts or proof of loss of earnings or something they are unlikely to offer any compensation. They'd be fools to offer anyone anything as then everyone will want a handout!
