So I have finally placed a secure order, by that I mean I have a placed an order for an already ordered car that I was able to change the spec on. My local dealer had taken a deposit with a delivery date in September but changed that slightly this morning to......end of November early December so I got on the phone and found this car in the system and placed a deposit. I have a com number and a build date of 3rd tri of September but the dealer was reluctant to give a definite delivery date because of what has already happened to me but he says mid to late October, this seems quite long and I think he may be giving me the worst case scenario - what is other member experience of how long it take to build and deliver a C63 after the build date.

Not a C63 but both our CLK and SLK were on the road within 7 days of build. They usually come through pretty quickly.

If your not to fussy about the spec and can take delivery ring round you could have it on the drive within a week or two.

I have an slk55 amg on order, and I too took one already in the system, was told delivery of mid august.
Then decided to do a factory pickup, got my letter through saying my car would be ready from around the 19th July, it's now the 3rd aug and they are telling me it's still waiting final inspection. I know it's built, but I think the slk goes from Bremen to afalterbach and then back to Bremen, so I believe it's on its was back to Bremen, well I hope it is.
My plan is to pick it up from Germany w/c 20th aug, so we shall see. I've never had a car on time though, although all my previous cars were Renault, so I thought it might be a little different with MB and get it on time, although they still have time to please me

(the world is small - I met David this weekend for the first time on a work related thing and we got talking and found a common interest - we are both on mbclub and I've done a factory collection and he's about to do his first!)

I think you said to me you had flights now sorted and will be going over on the 1st - is that correct?
TIP - when in the factory ask them to take your photo. I did and they got one of those SLR type cameras out and took my picture. He printed it of there and then and gave it to me on a near presentation envelope. When I move house I'll be putting it up on my garage wall with the German plates they put on the car. Sad, I know, but it brings back nice memories!
Make sure you take pics of this car too and post on here.
