Ouch!!!

Just seen on GMTV that a certain police force is to start using a Lotus to catch boy racers.
Wonder how long it will be until it looks like the one in my pics:rolleyes:

Yup the Police Exige was in the papers this morning. Apparently it's a bona fide Police vehice - not a demonstrator or 'evaluation' one (like the Lambos etc. that have been done up in Police livery in the past).

In the 70s/80s I used to drive down to Eastbourne regularly on business, and from time to time used to see an MGB GT in full 'jam sandwich' livery on the A22.

they tried that in essex we had a fleet of mitsu evos and subaru imprezas needless to say the "experienced" traffic officers have writen them all off

Said in the paper that only traffic officers with additional training and qualifications would be allowed to drive the Exige.

That particular car was down here this week-end. I think it is a road safety advertising vehicle decked out in full police regalia.

I dont think it was a good choice of car. Nowhere near fast enough. Too many cars nowadays alot faster. Shoulda got themselves an AMG.........
Just like this police Volvo trying to catch a Lotus Carlton in Sweden a few years ago............(sorry if its a repeat post)..............

It's an image thing compared to a performance item. We anaroks can rattle off dozens of faster cars but this vehicle is supposed to potray high performance spoorts car :)

While there are plenty of cars that would be as quick (or quicker) on a motorway, I think the Exige would run rings round them anywhere else.

Totally agree. Almost nothing to touch it.
But they really need a car that can do both in equal measure.
Something like a derestricted M3 perhaps.

Where do they put all the cones ??:bannana:
