Morning all,

Something that freaked me out today morning.... turned on ignition and the console suddenly flashed up - saying check brake pads at garage, check ABS, check ESP - and it kept flashing these 3 messages in quick succession and then calmed down and said - 3 faults.

I thought - ok, need to do that - so turned off car, went back to the house to get dealers phone number to give them a call at work. I came back, turned on ignition again and there was nothing to be seen - strange, so I ran through the menu and it 'No malfunction'.

Any ideas? (Hold on to wallet in case of expensive answers)

Thanks in advance

Tony

Colder damp dewy morning, maybe some moisture got in to the works. Or it maybe the start of one of those days:D :D

Its a early 2002 - I guess thats a pre facelift.....

dont worry about it for now matey, it can be caused by just a small drop in voltage or even as has been said a bit of moisture in the brake system somewhere....

I'm being serious - anyone have any idea? or should i go down to the dealer?

Sorry......I have no idea. But if it happens, say, another 2 or 3 times, then get it looked at. if it doesnt repeat, then forget it and put it down to gremlins.........

I had similar once in my car while driving. The faults had cleared themselves next time I started it and never came back. (at least until the brake pads wore down and the ABC hose split but those incidents were much later and unrelated!)

I wouldn't worry unless they come on again and persist.

phew - thanks guys - I was starting to think it was something - if its only a battery, I dont mind getting it changed... thanks again..

when my battery went down the abs light was the first to come on
