There is something about how farmers keep mice out of their combined harvesters in the winter by putting some soap in there. Ang on a tic I go ask google.

Excellent John, will investigate that now!
ETA: Just ordered three bars, will report back several months hence. I plan to use it for both the Merc and the Honda during their separate 'rests' in the garage.

The soap arrived today. I cut some up into bits and went to the garage. I've put some in the engine bay of the Honda (currently resting). The smell is quite strong. I'll keep you posted...
