P2036 Fault Code - Secondary air injection

Engine management light came on and I took it local indie and put on star
Has thrown up a P2036 fault code which is the secondary air injection system.
Tried to have a look round forums for more specific info - on what this may be - but to no avail

Can anyone put some flesh on the bones of this fault code

Hi sorry to jump in on this but where did you take your car...mine has developed a mind of its own and I need an indi, Im not far from you in Dordon I would appreciate if you could let me know, sorry I can't help with your issue I'm sure one of the many guru's on here will come back to you soon, I will be calling on them my self when I can narrow it down..cheers

It could be a few things. Could your Indy not tell you more?

The same fault code has appeared on my CLK230 in the past. There was no noticable difference in the way the car ran etc. I reset with a universal code reader. The fault code has'nt re-appeared for quite a few months. Because it reset ok, I was'nt unduly concerned. If it had imediateley returned it might have been a different storey.

Get the secondary air flap changed and you may strike lucky

I took it to Mercland at Nuneaton - they were good as the squeezed me in while they were busy.
They have reset the engine management light - and I will see if it reappears- then they will book it in to have a closer look - I know it could be a few things -
The car is running fine, so it might be temporary glitch - but if it reappears I will whizz it back to them.
