Gunmetal Grey , Black or Silver ...... unless you wear you baseball cap backwards and your name is Barry in which case paint them red or blue ;)

I would go with black or grey (especially if you're brush painting them), I used high temperature spray paint for mine to get an even finish.

Because they get hot you need to use the proper caliper paint. Available at Halfords and other motor factors.

Hi thanks for that as an oap you have just made up my mind for me,red it is then.

Don't worry about high temp paint.

Hammerite is fine for them , i painted mine about 2 years ago and they are fine.

Hammerite is fine ..... smoothrite is best.
Colour is entirely personal and on my CLK I have red and I dont own a baseball cap, am not called Barry, and do qualify for a bus pass !

It's the start of a slippery slope ..... first red brake calipers .... next , stick on vents and under car neons.

It is possible to subtly personalise without going to extremes ........ the only mod on the car are the calipers ...... but if you like stick on vents and neon lights its not my place to stop you !

I love how t he eye is drawn to colour.

Your taste is what matters. But pick a colour that complements the cars and wheels colours.

Red
Green
Blue

Love the effect.

Go for it!!!!

Actually whats the real difference from manufactory red vs silver brake callipers? Colour?

Yes, they are the same component but £480 :eek: if specified as an option (U70).

Don't worry about the "you'll look like a Chav" brigade" - just prematurely old heads on (relatively) young shoulders.

Petrolheads get it :thumb:.

All in your opinion John of course.

Got no problem with reds on the big powerful models , which is where they should be. When you start getting them on tiny diesels and things with tiny brakes etc , they just look odd and give off the wrong vibe ( all in my opinion of course ) , I'm a petrolhead , believe me.

But each to their own. Gunmetal grey on the CLK and A class. Tidy and smart but without shouting 'look at me , look at me !'

Lilac

If you're going to be un-original at least be original about it!
