like on newer benz cars, when you put the stickshift in reverse right or left outside mirror dips to make it easier to parallell park.
since w202 never came with this option, could it be retrofitted from newer car?
is it the same motor dipping the glas also folding outside mirrors?
it would be cool if this option could be retrofitted?

Hi Denis,
I believe the dipping glass mirror is part of the memory package, as 202's never got a memory option it involve retro-fitting the entire memory package.
Could be done as nothing is impossible though, sourcing parts from 210's and 208's.

Id like to see this being done :)

Wouldnt this involve changing all the motors to memory ones too? Both seats and Mirrors?

Hi,
Yes it would involve replacing all the seat motors on both seats, with 208 or 210 ones, fitting the seat switch gear and wiring loom from the new switches to the seats and the door control units from a donor vechicle, and possibly some STAR coding to activate it though this could be troublesome as Memory option would never been assciated with 202 chassis.
I believe a guy from Holland has done this on a 202, SteveMBNL I believe.

hi guys, it seems to be a PITA job doing this modification!

damn, I hate it when right side mirror doesn't dip when I put it in reverse.
I always fear    that I might curb my Brabuses, knock on wood it didn't happen yet!

I always dip my right mirror with power button to view the curb while I parallel park.

I am also thinking of doing this on my 202 have a few questions, would the steering column be a straight swap? Changing the buttons i think is the biggest job as door card would have to be modified, if some how the buttons on the door could stay and only wire in memory buttons some how.

I don't think a door card out of w210 or w208 would fit w202

Hi,
I may very well do this mod one day but i think as it will involve a lot of wiring and control units you would need a donor car, and only when i could be sure the donor cars seat motors would fit, also it might require a mixture of donor parts from 208 and 210.
Fitting the seat switches IMO would be the least of your worries, part compatibility and wiring would be my primary concern.
Steering column would be a good place to start with this mod as it could be done as a standalone mod, I have heard this being done on a 202, again not exactly sure where the donor steering column came from.
Hows your PDC mod coming on?
Thought I had found a 43 bodykit with PDC option (still looking for a front bumper) the other week and was going to pm you as i recall you were still looking for a rear bumper with PDC.

Hi andy i don't think there should be much difference in motors and modules. I don't understand how the steering column works stand alone as am sure its part of the memory feature.

Still having no look with the rear bumper and haven't sourced other PDC parts

Hi,
The steering column would still need to operate manually other than when operating via. the memory function, the column could then just be added (electrically) to the rest of the memory system when fitted. Though again the column i think the adjusting motor would still need to be from a memory optioned car.
Are you still going to fit PDC? If not I,m still looking for a replacement undamaged front bumper if you want to offload it, mine is going in for a total respray very soon and i,m having mine repaired though they won,t guarentee the repair on the bumper due to the damage and where it is.

Hi andy i still want to do this mod i was going to ask you the same if you want sell me yours. I am trying to source the bumper first then wiring looms and displays and sensors

As regards to the memory option i am going ahead with it firstly starting with the steering column
