Took my E 211 to the local dealer to report a faulty front parktronic system. Pulling up to T junctions/roundabouts etc with no obstacles ahead the front markers (occasionally) go directly to 2+2 reds (no oranges) and the whistle. Strange thing is it only seemed to happen in bright sunshine.
Dealer advises this is a known 'feature' in extremes of temperature be it hot or cold, can also happen in heavy rain. MB apparently aware
Am I being naive but - whats the point in having something that you can't use reliably in the Winter (cold) , Summer (hot), Spring or Autumn (wet)

Maybe your car was just whistling at the sexy SLK in front. ;)

So far, touch wood, I've not had any problems with Parktronic whatever the weather. I did get a false alarm in very cold weather but as there was a build up of ice on the sensors it wasn't really a system problem.

my front sensors have gone on the blink twice when I was stuck behind London buses with their nasty smelly hot diesel engines at the back

Regarding the 211,
Ours is also rock solid but don't forget they also point slightly out to the front sides (If you know what I mean?) I wonder if something is quite close alongside you?

If anything I would prefer the alarm to activate a bit further from the object. The lights are acceptable.

John
