Petrol Price

It's taken more than a year.

In the past month I have cycled past my local Tesco garage each day on the way to work and it has been rising a penny every couple of days. come Monday I bet it will be 1.42

Ah yes, Russian petrol prices! I always fill up prior to leaving!
Les
Will you be in Russian in the summer this year? if so, maybe a meet is possible?

We're off to Russia next week as my wife has her final exams and graduation ceremony for her SECOND degree! (not that unusual in Russia - many people have more than one!!)

It'll be a second winter as it's still heavily snowing in Vladimir! :)

I remember when that would have cost £6.50...more than 35 years ago. So, a 10 fold increase in 35 years doesn't seem so bad...many things are more than 10 times more expensive...cars, houses, salaries, etc.

I know it's all relative, but having got used to relatively cheap fuel it depresses you, and to think 40 years ago I was driving a 1600cc Vauxhall Victor 101 that did 25 mpg with a 3 speed manual box!!

174.9 for Superunleaded, 179.9 for Diesel at Texaco in Chelsea this evening. And I thought the Holland Road Service Station was bad...

I never even knew what MPG the first 6 cars I owned did in terms of MPG.

I found out a lot later on that my first Opel Manta 2.0GTE from 20 years ago, with 5 speed manual, did something like 30 > 36mpg typically.

Quite a surprise but then it only weighed just over a ton.

Petrol in the 40p area meant it was cheap motoring (but I certainly didn't know it at the time!).

146.9 for diesel when I filled up on monday.

£141.9 for diesel in sunny Doncaster today.
