How much do you pay per litre?
can you remember what petrol was per litre when you started driving?

NOW 2010- South Wales - Caerphilly £1.139 per litre:dk:
THEN 2002 - South Wales - Caerphilly £0.74 per litre:thumb:

(I only use the supermarket stations as they seem to be considerably cheaper):thumb:

Nope..... but I can remember when it went through 50p a gallon and raced towards the £1 mark which pundits predicted would never be breached..

Note I am talking about a gallon (4.55 litres)..

The first car where I paid for the fuel was in 1996 and I remember it cost 50-60p.
Apart from the car being a B-reg 205 with 180k, happy memories :)

I remember brimming my tank for £23. Happy days... Can remember the switch from around £2.40 a gallon to about 51p a litre, too, although that's probably wrong.

Generally I pay between £1.22 and £1.26 currently, being addicted to V-Power or BP Ultimate as I am.

Was 90p a gallon when I had my moped way back circa 1986!!

Diesel in Swindon is currently 115.9p a litre (£5.27 a gallon) at my local Asda

I remember in 1969ish a £'s worth would fill the mini tank 4.5 gallons about 5.5p per litre now around £1.14 per litre

Round here the local Shell is usually the same as the nearby Sainsburys, so I use Shell most of the time.

I started driving in 1994, and seem to remember petrol was around 50-60p/litre.

It's now twice that here with diesel and petrol around 122p/litre.

I doubt we will see an end to rises now to be honest. All concerned will have seen that we continue to pay when it goes up (what other choice do we have really!) so will continue to do as they please.

well we know we only end up loosing out if / when theres a petrol strike!

what other option do we have?
I heard somthing ging round to boycott certain stations to get them to reduce so that others have to follow to compete.....

I just tanked up last week £64.35 @ £1.179 (54.58 litres)

Started driving in 1999 cant remember how much the petrol was then but i know a tenner would get me 3 days of getting to uni and back :D

K

At most of the stations around my area petrol and diesel are £1.18!

Highest I spotted was in a village nearby - £1.23 for diesel!!

When are we going to protest??????!!

All the petrol stations around here put the price up by 1p the day after the budget. No doubt it will go up another 1p on the first... because of the budget

Without giving too much away, I paid around 50p a GALLON when I first started driving - in London! :D

More importantly, when is everyone who doesn't care about their car going to piss off and buy a fuel cell vehicle?

Only way "we" get continued access to cheap* fuel is when this happens.

As for protest, good luck with that.

*If you don't think 20p/litre or whatever the untaxed cost is is cheap, you try digging up oil, refining it and shipping it halfway round the world while also maintaining the miltary might needed to 'open up new opportunities'

no one would argue the "actual" cost of petrol but if this cost is £0.20 how the hell can they justify 500% TAX!

My protest was aimed at the "government" not the oil companies! In real terms, oil is cheaper than it's been in over 10 years! The tax we pay on it is criminal and if I had the power I'd sue the thieving rascals (government) for theft! I hate the way they have their thieving tentacles in every orifice, I mean wallet..

The good old british way - shut up and pay!
And thats exactly what we do!

Remember a few years back - petrol hit £1 a litre...Total outrage
Now we are at £1.14-£1.20

Not to mention road Tax....

At least that's decimal currency lol. Geoff2 was talking about paying a 1969 pound to fill a Mini!!! Back when money was real......lol :D
